About i-SAIRAS

The international Symposium on Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Automation in Space (i-SAIRAS) is a well-established conference series with a long-standing tradition, bringing together leading experts from academia, industry, and space agencies to discuss advances in intelligent and autonomous systems for space missions. Over several decades, i-SAIRAS has become a key international forum for the exchange of ideas and the presentation of cutting-edge research in AI, robotics, and automation for space exploration and operations.

i-SAIRAS is organised every two years by the Canadian Space Agency (CSA-ASC), the German Aerospace Agengy (DLR), ESA, the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and the National Aerospace Administration (NASA) of the United States of America. At every edition the conference venue changes continent (America, Asia and Europe) gathering for the international community of space A&R.

In 2026 and for the first time, both the international Symposium on Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Automation in Space (i-SAIRAS) and the international Conference on Space Robotics (iSpaRo) will take place together. Venue will be the conference and exhibition center Confex in Cologne, Germany. The conference takes place from 3–6 November 2026 — bringing together space technology communities from industry, science and government.
